KC and Kathleen Arrive in Vietnam

Easia Travel is the newest addition to the KCH Travel Portfolio (www.kchportfolio.com) so we embarked on a 12-day trip to explore Vietnam and Cambodia with them. (Easia Travel also offers custom trips to Laos, but that will have to wait for another time, unfortunately.) This was KC’s first trip to Indochina whereas Kathleen traveled there ten years ago with her husband. It was an amazing experience for us both and we created a blog from the road to share our adventures.

Warning: Don’t Try This on Your Own!
Since we are on a familiarization trip and trying to take in as much as we can during our 12-day stay, we’re moving at a very fast clip. Even the Easia Team thinks we are quite crazy with this ambitious schedule. Easia Travel recommends at least 10-12 days to maximize your experience in Indochina. Of course they will create a custom itinerary to suit your needs and interests, replete with local expert guides and drivers to navigate the way. Truly carefree travel!

The Ease of Asia = Easia Travel
We both remarked how easy traveling in Vietnam is for US visitors. Everyone speaks some level of English and while the local currency is the Vietnamese dong (approximately 20,000 dong = 1 dollar), the US dollar is accepted everywhere you go. Most prices are listed in dollars and when making purchases, change is even given back in USD. If you have extra euros lying around in a drawer, bring those, too. The Vietnamese don’t discriminate and they will acccept them, too!

There are luxury hotels in all provinces of Vietnam, complete with any amenity or service a Westerner might be seeking. Most every deluxe hotel is equiped with wifi internet access, often on a complimentary basis. Other amenities include hair dryers, laundry service, mini bars (yes, even stocked with Diet Coke, Pringles, M&Ms, mixed nuts and Snickers bars when you need a small taste of home), cable TV with CNN and HBO, fitness centers, swimming pools, spas and business centers. No roughing it here! The Viet Nam News newspaper is distributed at most hotels and gives you great insight to local topics and issues.
